Do we share work space?

Each student has their own full size Kitchen bay, their own full size bathroom bay and their own average size bathroom floor to work in throughout the week. Each student also having their own tools to work with.

Do I need special clothing?

Clothes that you don't mind getting messy. Tilers work pants with knee pads and steel toe cap gel heeled tillers boots are provided free with the 5 & 10 day course.

Do I need to bring any equipment / tools? Are there any extra charges?

No we will supply all the tools, equipment and tiles that you will require for the course. So there are no extra charges.

I'm Travelling, What about staying somewhere during my course?

We have provided some accommodation links and telephone numbers on our website

Will I get a recognised qualification?

The 5 day intensive tiling course will get you to a standard where you can get started with enough knowledge and ability to conduct yourself as a professional (do job-get paid!!) We can only give you an in house certificate of completion which details the subjects you have covered. We can now put you through the NVQ process via our partners Leeds College Of Technology and get you NVQ Qualified in Wall and Floor Tiling Level 2 with an assessment pass.

Why would I need an NVQ?

Tiling has been overlooked until now as an area where qualification is required. An unqualified tiler, even an outstanding one has no way of proving a skill level so you get truly awful tilers and pros in a mish mash where the contractor has to take pot luck and hope the tiler is as good as they say they are. The industry loses millions through unqualified cowboys and so the NVQ is being brought into the light as being essential to being allowed on site work and quite possibly sub contracting situations in the future. It is surely a conclusion that the qualified will get the job over the unqualified in the near future.

Can I really take up tiling as a profession?

If you are prepared to put in the hard work we will give you the training to set you on your way, we can also help you with marketing yourself etc. We also provide a FREE advice line Monday to Friday to give you the backup should you require it.

Can we purchase tools at the tiling academy?

All our courses are supported by an extensive proffessional tool collection, safety equipment and accessories at the academy including 3 different Tiling Starter Kits at discount prices. We will advise you on all tools and what you should and shouldn’t buy whether you are buying from us or not.Students will use a wide variety of professional tiling tools whilst on the course, (no DIY tools). We can also deliver to you any further tools you require.These are delivered ex stock via 24hr courier .

How do I book a course?

Fill in the booking form and pop it in the post or Phone / Email the Academy.
